1548 the ancient door “Porta Napoli” was erected in honor of Charles V in place of the even older door dedicated to San Giusto. Under this latter, it is said, there were the ashes of the saint. On the pavement, right under the door, you can catch traces of the Messapian era and the walls built by that time. From then on, cultures, kingdoms and other walls have followed and overlapped up to the Crown of Aragon. Necropolis prior to the construction of the walls have been found. Under the arch, there should be also the tomb of an 8-10 year old aged child, which dates back to the fourth century BC.
